My Review: Well first I will say, I ended up getting a bottle of this, but it isn’t because I liked it… I was intrigued by my tasting of it and wanted to try it again at home. When I smelled it is when it got interesting and a little funny. I asked everyone around me if they smelt rubber, like the old black tire inner-tubes, rubber. Naturally, I was surrounded by classmates that have watched Wine Library TV, and Gary Vaynerchuk, and everyone laughed and said that I sounded like Gary! After that I didn’t get much tasting on because of laughing about it, but I hope to pop open my bottle very soon and give it a true chance!

Vivacious Vino - Review of Toschi Cabernet Sauvignon

Name: Toschi Cabernet Sauvignon
Variety: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Region: ??
Country: California

Wine Review Well-balanced flavors of dark berries and plums. Spicy fruit finish.

My Review: The smell was GREAT. Coffee, chocolate, yummy. But, as everyone knows… I’m not a red girl!! The flavor was a little harsh, the plums did come through though, and the spice at the end… WOAH. It sneaks up and hits you on the tongue! I kind of liked it!

Vivacious Vino - Review of Canyon Road Pinot Noir

Name: Canyon Road Pinot Noir
Variety: 100% Pinot Noir
Region: ??
Country: California
Year: ??
Price: $6.95
Alcohol Content: ??
With/Without Food: No food
Wine Review Rich, fruit forward cherry flavors, soft tannins, a medium body and a smooth velvety finish. Pairs well with creamy soups, salmon, and savory pork dishes.

My Review: Anyone that reads this knows that I LOVEEEEEE the other Pinot (Gris), but trying this Pinot was refreshing! Smelled like earth and dirt and grass and had those flavors in it. I thought it also smelled and tasted a little like red velvet cake.  I think I will start rethinking the “ONLY Grigio” rule I love oh so much!

Vivacious Vino - Review of Wine Men of Gotham Chardonnay Semillon

Name: Wine Men of Gotham Chardonnay Semillon
Variety: 80% Chardonnay, 20% Semillon
Region: ??
Country: Australia
Year: ??
Price: $7.95
Alcohol Content: ??
With/Without Food: No food

Wine Review Chardonnay Semillon is a blend of 80% Chardonnay and 20% Semillon. It gives a moderate intensity of melon, guava, apricot and butterscotch aromas. The medium bodied palate provides attractive acidity along with plenty of tropical fruit flavors and a medium-long finish.

My Review: Low acidity in this wine. It wasn’t what I expected, and was definitely good! I didn’t think the finish was that long though, but for me that was a plus! Went with a friend who isn’t in the class and they ended up buying the bottle, for the label AND taste!! Can’t wait to drink it!

Vivacious Vino - Review of Indwe Sauvignon Blanc

Name: Indwe Sauvignon Blanc
Variety: 100% Sauvignon
Region: ??
Country: South Africa
Year: ??
Price: $7.95
Alcohol Content: ??

Wine Review Grapes are meticulously sourced from our grape producers along the Coastal region of the Western Cape ensuring complexity and freshness in the wine. Indwe Sauvignon Blanc is full of layers, balance and persistence. The wine is imbued with tropical and citrus notes, with hints of melon and gooseberry flavors.

My Review: Yummy wine. Nose and flavor sweet. A little savory taste, as well as a woody, smoky nose.  Definite mango flavor and the orange and lime rind was apparent too.
