Wine Review 100% Muscat. Soft floral hints add depth to the otherwise straightforward ripe peach and nectarine aromas. There’s a good balance in the mouth, with a nice acidic lift and slightly lime edge to cut the sweetness on the finish and close with the faintest hint of honeydew melons.

My Review: Yummy wine. Nose and flavor sweet. Nice balance of acidity and sweetness. Definitely sweet and flavors of honeydew melon. I really did like this wine and plan on going back and getting it for a friend who loves Muscat wines when they visit in a few weeks!

Vivacious Vino - Review of Entrada Malbec

Name: Entrada Malbec
Variety: 100% Malbec
Region: ??
Country: Chile
Year: 2013
Price: $5.95
Alcohol Content: ??

Wine Review Firm and structured, this is a solid wine, laced with mineral acidity and tight tannins. It has a juicy, blackberry fruit component cutting through the texture.

My Review: Definitely a bolder wine of the group this week. I got a little floral on the end of the nose and while it had a juicy finish it wasn’t as complex as I thought it was going to be. Then again it is a $6 bottle! I only got a little of the blackberry from it.

Vivacious Vino - Review of Vina Borgia Borsao

Wine Review 86 Points – Robert Parker Also made from 100% Grenache, the 2012 Vina Borgia was fermented and aged in stainless steel. Its medium dark ruby color is followed by abundant notes of strawberries and black cherries offered in a straightforward, medium-bodied, soft, hedonistic, round style. It is hard to believe a wine this good can sell for $7 a bottle. Enjoy it over the next 1-2 years.

My Review: This wine was not what I expected it to be after seeing the color. It was more light-bodied and the taste wasn't as heavy or bold as you'd guess. The nose was full of strawberries and black cherries, however I didn't find that on the taste. The wine was extremely round, light, and had a tight flavor. Not bad for a red or for 7 bucks!

Vivacious Vino - Review of Peter Lehmann Chardonnay

Wine Review The 2010 Chardonnay presents subtle notes of spiced apple slices and ripe peaches with hints of freshly baked bread and melon. Light bodied, clean and refreshingly crisp in the mouth, it offers just enough apple and pear flavor concentration, finishing with medium-long persistence. Drink it now to 2014.

My Review: The nose was only okay on this one for me. You did get the spiced apple and melon as the descriptor said, but it wasn’t a good balance. I think the sweetness was a little much for a Chardonnay. Had to pass on getting this one this week.

Vivacious Vino - Review of Protocolo Vino de la Tierra de Castilla

Country: Spain

Wine Review Subtle aromas of mint, lemon and orange, with a hint of honeysuckle. Dry, understated and focused, offering clean citrus and melon flavors and slow-building sweetness. Finishes dry and brisk, with an echo of lemon. As usual, this is an outstanding value

My Review: I liked this wine! I loved the lemon and honeysuckle scents in it. The sweetness wasn’t overwhelming and definitely was “slow-building.” I liked that it was a very wet finish and my friend and I both ended up getting a bottle! As I’ve said in previous post, I like a good balance of sweet and dry and this was nice!
