Vivacious Vino - Review of Lagosta Vinho Verde

Name: Lagosta Vinho Verde
Variety: 20% Arinto, 30% Trajadura, 30% Loureiro, 20% Azal
Region: Vinho Verde
Country: Portugal
Year: 2012
Price: It was a gift to my parents.
Alcohol Content: 9%
With/Without Food: Schnitzel and Feta with crackers
Wine Review: Lagosta Vinho Verde has the highest level of CO2 permitted for a Vinho Verde, maintains the natural flavors and aromas of green apples, pears and flowers, as well as preserving its natural acidity.

My Review: The smell was almost soapy and smelled like Chardonnay. It was a deeper smell than I thought it would be, very sweet too. The taste was disappointing because I have tasted very good Vinho Verdes before. It was of course bubbly and crisp, but it also sort of had a fishy taste, which I thought was super strange. It was also dryer than I imagined.
