Wine Review: This Big House Red lives up to that old Fruit Bomb moniker that you’ve come to expect. It starts with a nose full of blackberries and raspberries, with hints of leather and spices. The palate is clean, exhibiting flavors of cranberries, roses, and a touch of rhubarb. This finish lingers, with flavors of vanilla and a touch of dark cherries in the finish.
My Review: Slow legs on this wine. The smell and taste of this
wine are of ripe blackberries and other dark berries (think raspberries,
cherries, and a little cranberry, currents). Also, you can definitely sense the
smokiness. There is a little leathery smell and of course there is a sweet and
fruity smell and taste. Shorter finish and the tannins aren’t too bad. Pretty
yummy for a red wine!
